Police Net More Suspects,Recover Arms in Plateau Killings Crackdown

ABUJA,NIGERIA – The Nigeria Police Force has made significant strides in its investigation into the recent killings in Plateau State, apprehending three additional suspects and recovering a cache of firearms in a series of targeted operations.

According to a statement released today by Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, operatives attached to the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) conducted intelligence-led operations focused on criminal conspiracy, gunrunning, and the illegal possession of firearms linked to the earlier violence in the state.

On May 3, 2025, at approximately 4:30 PM, IRT operatives acting on credible information arrested Abubakar Jibrin in Kalone Community, Shendam Local Government Area, Plateau State. A search of Jibrin’s residence following his apprehension led to the discovery of one submachine gun (SMG) along with an empty magazine.

Further success was recorded on May 4, 2025, in Barkin Ladi, Plateau State, where police operatives recovered two locally fabricated revolver rifles. These firearms have been connected to cartridges originating from a suspect identified as Ismail Danjuma, who is currently in police custody and is assisting with the ongoing investigation into the Plateau killings.
These recent arrests and recoveries underscore the Nigeria Police Force’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that all individuals involved in the reprehensible killings are brought to justice and held accountable under the law.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has commended the efforts of the оперативs involved in these successful operations.
