In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the man recounted the shocking ordeal, which began when he parked his car outside a church in Warri, Delta State, for a program. Upon returning after the service, he found that his car was missing.
The theft was immediately reported to the police, who requested the vehicle’s documents for investigation. However, two years later, in 2017, the man was stunned to spot his stolen car being used by police officers as a patrol vehicle.
Sharing his story online, he said: “I’m a citizen of Nigeria, I live in Warri, Delta State. The picture in my hand is of my car. I went to a church program in 2015, and when the program ended, I came out to find that my car was gone. I searched for it but couldn’t find it, so I reported the theft to the police. They asked me to bring the vehicle papers. Two years later, in 2017, I saw the same car with police officers, who had converted it into a patrol vehicle.”
The post also includes a video providing further details of his experience. The man is now calling for accountability and justice from authorities regarding the incident.
