Dr. Adesina highlighted Kaduna’s pioneering role as the first state in Nigeria to launch the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ), which he described as a model for achieving food security, economic prosperity, and inclusive development. He remarked, “Kaduna’s leadership on this project reflects not just a vision for food security but a roadmap for economic prosperity.”
The AfDB President pledged continued support for Kaduna State in expanding school feeding programs integrated with the SAPZ initiative. He also promised assistance in improving primary healthcare, health insurance, and infrastructure development, including water, sanitation, and digitalization.
Dr. Adesina praised Governor Sani as “a model leader, a listener, a unifier, and above all, a doer.” In response, Governor Sani lauded Dr. Adesina’s contributions to agricultural transformation across Africa and his impact on smallholder farmers in Nigeria through initiatives like the E-wallet program.
