This declaration was made during the Olubadan-in-Council meeting held at the Olubadan Palace in Oke Aremo, Ibadan, on Monday.
According to the Olubadan, “Chief Akinade Ajani Amusa is the recognized Baale of Sasa Land in Akinyele Local Government Area and the accredited representative of the Olubadan of Ibadanland.”
The monarch affirmed, “Let it be noted that all individuals or groups in Sasa Land are under the authority of the Baale, Chief Amusa Akinade Ajani. It is imperative to accord him the due respect and authority. Any defiance of his directives will incur severe sanctions, as such acts will be deemed an affront to the Olubadan throne.”
This statement follows the eighth-day Fidau prayer for the late Alhaji Haruna Maiyasin Katsina, which took place on March 8, 2025, in Sasa, Ibadan. The event unexpectedly evolved into a turbaning ceremony for Ciroma, the deceased’s son, as the new Sarkin Sasa, an action conducted without the approval of His Imperial Majesty, the Olubadan of Ibadanland.
