President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the extension of Mrs. Kemi Nanna Nandap’s tenure as Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) until December 31, 2026. Mrs. Nandap, initially appointed to the position on March 1, 2024, was set to conclude her service on August 31, 2025. However, her exceptional leadership and contributions have earned her an extended term to further drive reforms within the agency.

A seasoned immigration officer, Mrs. Nandap began her career with the NIS on October 9, 1989, steadily rising through the ranks due to her dedication and strategic vision. Under her leadership, the NIS has achieved significant advancements in border security, modernization of immigration processes, and enhanced national security measures.
In a statement released by the State House, President Tinubu commended Mrs. Nandap for her “exemplary leadership” and urged her to remain committed to advancing the agency’s strategic objectives in alignment with his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He reaffirmed his government’s commitment to strengthening the NIS in safeguarding Nigeria’s borders while promoting safe, legal, and orderly migration.Mrs. Nandap’s tenure extension reflects recognition of her pivotal role in transforming the NIS and underscores the administration’s focus on reforming key institutions for national progress.
