Massive Police Promotion: 39 Senior Officers Elevated in Major Reshuffle

Abuja, Nigeria – March 25, 2025 – In a significant move aimed at bolstering the leadership and operational capacity of the Nigeria Police Force, Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Egbetokun Olukayode Adeolu, Ph.D., NPM, presided over the decoration ceremony of 39 newly promoted senior officers at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

The event, held at the Goodluck Jonathan Peacekeeping Hall, saw 20 Commissioners of Police (CPs) elevated to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) and 19 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) promoted to the rank of CP.

The promotions, approved by the Police Service Commission at the IGP’s request, reflect the IGP’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding officers for their dedication and service.
