The Lagos State Police Command has detained a 22-year-old member of an armed robbery syndicate specializing in car theft. In a statement released on Saturday, the command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, revealed that the suspect was apprehended in the Ikotun area through intelligence gathering.

“The syndicate targets vehicles in the Eastern part of Nigeria and transports them to Lagos for sale,” Hundeyin stated. “During interrogation, the suspect confessed to receiving three Lexus 330 and one Lexus 350 2017 model from an accomplice, a woman who remains at large.”
Hundeyin noted that the suspect led police operatives to the location where he sold the cars. “One silver Lexus 350 and one black Lexus 330 were recovered,” he said. Efforts are underway to apprehend other fleeing members of the syndicate and recover all stolen vehicles.
