The National Association of Nigerian Students ( NANS) which is the umbrella body of all Nigerian students in tertiary institutions is unfortunately enmeshed in another leadership controversy as two Presidents of the students’ body emerged on Saturday.
The factionalisation of the student body is one of the major factors that have contributed to NANS loosing its potency and vibrancy, ValidViewNetwork reports.
ValidViewNetwork reports that the emergence of the two Presidents is coming at a time that the outgoing President, Comrade Asefon who is currently having it rough for his poor comments on ASUU is preparing to hand over the leadership of the Association.

The two factional presidents are Umar Lawal of the Department of Library and Information Science of the Bayero University, Kano and Usman Umar of the Federal University Dutse.
ValidViewNetwork reports that there were concerted efforts to have the emergence of a President but all efforts proved abortive as two factional presidents emerged for the association.
