The Executive Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Nureni Adeniran, announced that Governor Seyi Makinde has approved the recruitment of 7,000 teachers for public primary schools and 100 caregivers for special schools across the state.
This announcement was made during a press conference on Friday at the SUBEB headquarters in Ibadan, the state capital.
Dr. Adeniran explained that this recruitment initiative is in line with Governor Makinde’s electoral promises and is a response to the urgent need for more teachers in public primary schools in Oyo State.

He emphasized that the details of the recruitment process would be made public in due course, ensuring transparency and adherence to merit-based selection.
He assured that no agents would be appointed to manage the recruitment process, and all necessary information regarding application procedures and requirements would be clearly communicated.
Dr. Adeniran also cautioned potential applicants against scammers, stating that no person is authorized to collect money from applicants for the recruitment.
The OYOSUBEB chairman reiterated that the recruitment process would be strictly localized and conducted with integrity, following the governor’s directive to maintain a merit-based approach.
