The Ogun State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (OGUNCCIMA) has announced that the 2024 Trade Fair aims to tackle unemployment in Ogun State, particularly among the youth.
President of OGUNCCIMA, Engr. Mike Akingbade, made this known during a press briefing held on Thursday at the office in Oke-Mosan.
Akingbade emphasized that the Trade Fair aims to instill a business mindset among the youth of Ogun State, aligning with the state’s reputation as the business hub of the country.
The event is designed to provide a platform for industries to showcase their products and services, fostering awareness, examining market trends, maintaining customer relations, and prospecting for new business opportunities.
The 13th Gateway International Trade Fair 2024 is positioned as a vital platform for facilitating business exchange between local and international stakeholders through networking opportunities such as B2B, B2G, and B2C interactions.

Additionally, it aims to facilitate dialogue between policymakers, regulatory agencies, and the business community to enhance understanding and appreciation of their roles in driving state economic development, job creation, and overall prosperity.
Akingbade further announced that the Trade Fair will feature a raffle draw with a star prize of a 2-bedroom bungalow courtesy of the Ogun State Government in collaboration with OGUNCCIMA. Moreover, for the first time in the history of the Ogun State International Trade Fair, an entertainment village will be established to promote relaxation and social engagement.
OGUNCCIMA expressed readiness to collaborate with the state government to build the state’s future, particularly in the area of agribusiness, to increase productivity and support the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by attracting investors to the state, positioning it as the preferred investment destination.
Akingbade urged media practitioners to utilize the Gateway International Trade Fair to showcase investment opportunities in Ogun State to the outside world.
He also appreciated the media for their support and urged them to highlight the peaceful nature of Ogun State, essential for fostering a conducive business environment.
