A tragic incident occurred at Henry Carr Street, Guinness Plc in Lagos State, where a 49-year-old man, Gbolahan Aina, lost his life after being crushed by a truck driver identified as Godwin Donatus.
The incident took place around 7:00 a.m. on Saturday.
According to reports, the truck, bearing the number plate KJA-74 XQ, accidentally reversed and fatally crushed Gbolahan Aina.
Sadly, despite efforts to rush him to Maryland hospital, he was pronounced dead by the attending doctor.
A police source confirmed the details, stating that the truck driver, Godwin Donatus, was unaware of Gbolahan’s presence behind the vehicle while reversing, leading to the tragic accident.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, corroborated the incident, indicating that the victim’s body has been transferred to the Maryland Hospital Mortuary for an autopsy.
In a related development, there were reports of another tragic event on Friday night, where a mob allegedly set ablaze a Hilux Toyota vehicle after it was involved in an accident at the Kara-OPIC bus stop along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The vehicle, bearing the number plate EPE80J, reportedly experienced brake failure, resulting in it colliding with bystanders at the bus stop, causing the death of three individuals and injuring two others.
