Ogun state governor, Dapo Abiodun on Monday sworn-in four newly appointed permanent secretaries.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony held at the exco chamber, governor’s office, oke mosan, Abeokuta, Governor Abiodun noted that the new appointees were selected from a pool of qualified directors.
The governor noted that the selection of the new permanent secretaries were base on seniority, merit, professionalism, equity, inclusion and overall interest of the public service.
“The 4 new permanent secretaries were chosen from a pool of very qualified directors from the entire public service.”
“The special process were base on seniority, but particularly merit, professionalism, equity, inclusion and overall interest of the public service and people of Ogun state.”
“We have placed a premium on skill, on experience, on hardwork, on honesty and devotion in service. None of you were appointed because you lobbied me before this appointment.”
The governor promised that his administration will continue to prioritize policies that guarantee the welfare of civil servants in the state.
“As a very responsive and responsible administration we are determined to continue to repositioning the civil and public service to become more friendly, efficient and result oriented towards the successful implementation of our building our future together agenda.”
“By our avowed principles of governance that is solely predicated on inclusive leadership, we consider the civil service as prime partners of great value and significance, therefore we shall continue to hold you in high esteem and treat you with utmost respect and dignity.”
He disclosed that the sum of one hundred and twelve billion naira has been paid as pension and gratuities to both retirees of state and local government by his administration since assumption of office.
“Our government will continue to prioritize and implement policies that guarantee your welfare. We have demonstrated this by payment of various allowances. As of October 2023, this administration has paid over N112 billion in pensions and gratuities of retirees of both state and local government.”
Congratulating the newly appointed permanent secretaries, Governor Abiodun urged them to work closely and collaboratively with the commissioners in their various ministries.
The newly sworn in permanent secretaries are: Mr. Samuel Oyeleye, Mrs Roseline Oluwatoyin Jacobs, Mrs Kehinde Omobola Akinola and Mr. Oladipo Foluke Ogunfowora.
