The Appeal Court in Lagos, has affirmed the section of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat.
The court in its ruling on Wednesday, dismissed the suit filed by the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olajide Adediran, aka Jandor against the election of Sanwo-Olu.
The court in a unanimous decision delivered by the three-member panel led by Justice Yargata Nimpa dismissed the grounds of appeal raised by Adediran.
The tribunal had earlier upheld the victory of Sanwo-Olu as the elected governor of Lagos, in the March 11 election.
The justices held: “Even though they were all pre-election matters, the appellants (PDP and Adeniran) still failed to prove them. The appellants came empty-handed and left empty-handed. They merely enjoyed their day in court. Their petition is dismissed.”
