Two students from Audu Bako College of Agriculture, Makoda, tragically drowned in Thomas Dam in Kano State on Wednesday while attempting to cross the dam in a boat.
The Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi, confirmed this unfortunate incident in a statement on Wednesday.
The students who lost their lives were identified as Abubakar Sanusi, aged 22, and Salisu Ado, aged 21.

Their colleague, Ibrahim, aged 21, was fortunate to be rescued alive and is currently receiving medical treatment at Dambatta General Hospital, according to the PRO.
Abdullahi further explained that Sanusi and Salisu were rescued in an unconscious state but unfortunately succumbed to their injuries later on. He reiterated that the fire service has initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
